At some point in the school year, I open my kid’s backpack and think… wow, you really lived in here. Crumbs, pencil shavings, random notes, maybe a sticky snack situation I don’t want to think too hard about.
The good news is our Parker Kids gear is made for real kid life — and it cleans up way easier than you’d expect. Here’s how I reset everything when it’s feeling a little too loved.
Backpacks
When the Kids Backpack needs a refresh, I just toss it in the wash.
Machine wash cold with like colors, use non-chlorine bleach if needed, and lay it flat to dry.
Pro tip: Before I wash it, I unzip everything and shake it out because the crumbs are truly impressive.
Lunch Boxes
These get wiped down a lot around here. A damp cloth usually does the trick, then I let it air dry completely.
If something leaked (because of course it did), I leave it open overnight so smells don’t hang around. Baking soda inside works if things get funky.
Belt Bags
These are easy. I spot clean with mild soap and water and let them air dry.
Pro tip: check the pockets first. Kids are excellent at sneaking snacks and treasures into very small places.
Patches
Patches get spot cleaned gently with a damp cloth.
I always let them fully air dry before putting them back on. It's extra fun to use this as a time to rotate patches for even more fun. It keeps things feeling new without needing to buy anything else!
Ball Caps
Ball caps see a lot of action: from playground days and field trips to sports practices and messy hair mornings.
I spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap when needed and let them air dry. If they’re extra sweaty or dusty, a gentle hand wash works too. I always reshape the brim before drying too!
Kids are tough on their stuff, and that’s totally normal! A quick clean every now and then makes everything feel fresh again, without needing to replace things that are still doing their job!
