PATIENCE
Growing strong character and stronger families - one patch at a time.
Patient children develop emotional regulation, delated gratification skills, and the ability to handles life's inevitable waiting period. We recommend choosing a timeline to focus on this attribute (a week, month, etc.) and prioritizing intentional, doable tasks to cultivate Patience together!
HOW TO ENCOURAGE PATIENCE WITH YOUR CHILD
- Give advance notice when waiting is required: "We'll leave in 5 minutes."
- Model patience yourself. "I'm awaiting patiently in this line, even thought it's taking a while."
- Validate them: " I know waiting is hard, and you're doing such a good job staying calm."
- Send them off to school by saying, "I am patient!" together
