PROBLEM SOLVING
Growing strong character and stronger families - one patch at a time.
Children who learn to solve problems grow into confident, creative, and independent thinkers. We recommend choosing a timeline to focus on this attribute (a week, month, etc.) and prioritizing intentional, doable tasks to cultivate Problem Solving together!
HOW TO ENCOURAGE PROBLEM SOLVING WITH YOUR CHILD
- Resist jumping in immediately - ask, "What could you try next?"
- Praise the process, not just the solution: "I like how you kept trying different ways!"
- Think out loud: "Hmm, the zipper is stuck. Should I pull harder or try wiggling it gently?"
- Sent them off to school by saying "I am a problem solver!" together

DAILY RITUALS
Character growth happens at your pace, so you can spend as long as you want nurturing PROBLEM SOLVING in your child! Whether you focus on it for a week or a month, we encourage daily touchpoints to keep your child focused.
What does progress look like?
Your child is growing in problem solving when...
• They try to solve a problem on their own first before asking you
• They don't get frustrated and give up when they can't figure something out the first time
• They show greater interest in how things work
Celebrate Their Progress
When your child is ready to represent their Problem-Solving Patch, show off their Patch on any one of our play-proof products.
